This stunning bright raspberry red is named for our friend Jim Cooper of Raleigh who loved reds and inspired many people to grow daylilies. This is a saturated red, no yellow undertone. Throat is triangular and light green. Black raspberry veins, deeper raspberry red eye. Form is triangular, full, overlapped, sepals recurve. Velvety; excellent substance. Edges are serrated, waved, and adorned with tiny ruffles. Excellent deep color, and grand ruffling for a red. Five-way branching, 25-28 buds.
