This is one of three introductions building on the marvelous late-blooming daylilies of the late Bob Kennedy of Camden, SC. One of our goals has been to extend the daylily season and LOVELY IRENE along with CHOPPY WATERS and FAT LADY SINGS do just that. LOVELY IRENE is a large bright rose with lavender edges, a small yellow-green throat and light pink midribs. Form is triangular with sepal tips recurving and petal tips tucking slightly. Velvety. Excellent substance. Silvery sheen. Three-way branching, 14-18 buds.
