INSIGHT
(John Shooter, 2002)
36 L Re Dor. #92-66B-2 [Seedling X CHERRY ICE CREAM].
5 - 2 1/4 - 1 1/4. Diploid.
A wonderful delicate late bitone in light orchid. Center
pattern is intriguing upon close observation. From a deep green throat,
center shades to medium apricot then to pale apricot which forms a blaze
down the center of the petals, narrowing to a midrib as it reaches the
tips. Above medium apricot is a watermark of pale pink which the apricot
blaze bisects. Sepals are light apricot with a double edge of orchid and
cream and cream yellow midlines. Very diamond dusted. Form is fleur de
lis with all segments arching and recurving. Very velvety texture, excellent
substance. A thread of pale apricot edges the petals. Petals have tiny
gathered ruffles, crimping, and waving. Sepals are waved. Wide four-way
branching, 28-32 buds.
